How much does a project with Smitheo cost?
It depends on scope, so we do not publish fixed prices. After a short scoping call you get a written proposal with the model that fits the work: a fixed price when the scope is clear, phased when parts are still open (the first phase is fixed, later phases are estimated as we learn more), or time and materials for ongoing work. The budget range you choose in the brief helps us suggest the right first step.
You build with AI. How do you make sure the quality is good?
AI tools make us faster at writing code; they do not decide what gets built or shipped. Senior engineers design the architecture, review every change and test on your real data. That is the difference between a quick prototype and software that is engineered to last, and closing that gap is one of our services.
We only have a problem, not a spec. Is that enough?
That is exactly how we prefer to start. Describe what slows your team down or what you want to launch, choose "Not sure yet" in the brief if nothing fits, and we will come back with the smallest useful first step, even if that is not a project with us.
Can you take over an existing app or codebase?
Yes, that is common. Whether it was built by an agency, a past developer or an AI coding tool, we start with a review of what is there, tell you honestly what is worth keeping, and quote the fixes or the next step.
What if the project goes wrong or the budget runs out?
Unclear scope is phased on purpose: the first phase is fixed, and you decide after each phase whether to continue. Everything built so far is tested, documented and in your accounts, so stopping never means losing what you paid for.
Do we own the code, or are we locked in?
You own it. The code lives in your repository and everything runs in accounts you own. You can take it to another developer at any time.
Will the software keep working after handover?
That is what we build for. Every project ships with tests for the flows that matter, error alerts and documentation, and it runs in accounts you own. If you want us to watch over it and keep improving it, Care & Growth covers that month by month.
Are we too small to work with you?
No. Our smallest project is a single AI automation that takes one process off your team's plate end to end. And if the honest answer to your problem is an off-the-shelf tool or a one-day fix, we will say so.
Do you work with clients outside Croatia?
Yes. We work remotely, in English, with clients across the EU and worldwide. Invoices are issued by Smitheo d.o.o., a company registered in Croatia.
